The Township Zoning Inspector Dave Pugh is responsible for controlled enforcement of Township property use development. He supervises the needs of present and future generations of the Weathersfield Township residents by providing daily and long term planning to help to guarantee the protection of property owned in Weathersfield Township.
The five members of the Zoning Commission are appointed by the Township Trustees to serve as a fact-finding board with an advisory function to the Township Trustees to: prepare the Zoning Resolution and Zoning Map, and recommend any changes or amendments. The Commissioners are appointed to serve five-year terms, which are staggered to have a different member's term expire each year. Each member is selected for appointment so as to have them residing in different neighborhoods of the Township. The position of Zoning Commission Chairman is yearly rotated at the Board's annual reorganization meeting. The Commission's monthly meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. The meetings are held at the Township Administration Building, 1451 Prospect St., Mineral Ridge.
The five members of the Board of Zoning Appeals are also appointed by the Township Trustees to serve their staggered five-year terms as representatives of different neighborhoods. Questions of Zoning Regulations Interpretation, Appeals, Variances, Conditional Use Permits, and buffering are the only responsibilities of the Board of Appeals permitted under provisions of the Ohio Revised Code. The position of Zoning Appeals Board Chairman is yearly rotated at the Board's annual reorganization meeting. The Board of Appeals monthly meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. The meetings are held at the Township Administration Building, 1451 Prospect St., Mineral Ridge.
